I deleted photos but the space did not come back

Deleted photos stay 30 days in the Recently Deleted album. To free the space now: Photos app › Utilities › Recently Deleted › Select › Delete All. The app shows you these steps after each deletion.

With iCloud Photos, my iPhone's space barely changes

With Optimize Storage, your iPhone mostly keeps lighter versions: the space is freed mostly in iCloud.

Why “up to about”?

Figures are estimates computed on your iPhone. For photo series nothing is preselected: the figure assumes you keep the best photo of each series.

The first analysis takes long

Photos kept in iCloud need their thumbnails downloaded, preferably on Wi-Fi. If you leave the app, the analysis goes on later, at the latest at night while charging. Later analyses only look at new photos.

An important photo is suggested

Nothing is deleted without you: uncheck it, or swipe it right to keep it. Favorites are never preselected. You can tell us about the case, without sending the photo.

Does compression keep my information?

Yes: date, place, favorite status, albums, sound and orientation. The original stays intact until you choose to delete it.

Limited photo access

The app only analyzes the photos you chose. To add more: the app's Settings › Photo access, or iPhone Settings › Pixspace › Photos.

Manage or cancel my subscription

iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions. To recover a purchase on a new device: the offers screen or the app's Settings › Restore purchases.
