SwimPlan privacy policy

1. Controller

2. Principle

The app runs on your iPhone and Apple Watch. It has no account, no server, no ads, no analytics or tracking tool. The developer receives none of your data.

3. Health data read

With your permission, type by type, the app reads from Apple Health your swim workouts (from any app), their lengths and stroke styles, your swimming distance, your stroke counts and your heart rate; on the watch, during a workout, the water temperature if your model measures it. They are used for your history, paces, SWOLF, records and estimated CSS. You can revoke access at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access.

4. Health data saved

Workouts you do with SwimPlan are saved by your watch to Apple Health: workout, distance, lengths, stroke counts, heart rate, active energy and, in open water, your GPS route. They stay there under your control, like any workout.

5. Location

Used only during an open water workout on the watch, to record your route and point you back to your start. The route is attached to the workout in Health; it is sent nowhere else.

6. Data created by the app

Your workouts, guided workout results, settings, CSS and plans are stored on your iPhone, in the app's protected space shared with its widgets. Swims read from Health are kept in a cache on each device. iPhone and watch exchange data directly (workouts, results, CSS, Pro status, summary for complications), without any server.

7. iCloud sync

On by default and can be turned off in Settings › iCloud Sync: your workouts, results, settings, CSS and plans are kept in your private iCloud database (CloudKit) so you find them on your devices. The developer has no access to it. Swims read from Health do not go through iCloud via the app: Health syncs itself if you chose so.

8. Backups

As with any app, this data may be included in your iPhone backups (iCloud or computer), managed by Apple according to your settings.

9. Purchases

Subscriptions and the one-time purchase are handled by Apple. The app checks on the device that the purchase is valid; the developer never receives your name or payment details.

10. Sharing

A CSV export or a “.swimplan” workout file is only created when you ask for it, and you choose where it goes. A “.swimplan” file only holds the planned workout, no health data. No data is sold, shared or used for advertising or research.

11. Deletion

Deleting the app erases the data stored on the device. Synced data is erased in iPhone Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage › SwimPlan. Your workouts in Health are managed in the Health app.

12. Your rights (Swiss FADP, GDPR)

As the developer holds no data about you, there is nothing to disclose or correct; you keep full control from your devices. Any question: contact@dawnlab.ch.

13. Children

The app is not specifically aimed at children and collects no data.

14. This website

This website uses no cookies, no audience measurement, no external font or script. The host (Netlify, United States) may keep technical connection logs for security. The domain and email stay with Infomaniak (Switzerland).

Any change will be published on this page with its date.
